What is Lamisil cream?

Lamisil cream is a topical cream used to treat athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) in children.

Lamisil cream is formulated to help reduce symptoms of athlete’s foot in children.

Lamisil cream is applied to the skin, usually twice a day, for about three weeks. The cream can also be applied once a day to the skin. It may be used for a limited time to treat athlete’s foot, and for three or more months to treat any other conditions that are associated with athlete’s foot.

Lamisil cream is not recommended for use by pregnant women, as it may cause birth defects in the unborn child. It is also not recommended for use by lactating women, as it may cause birth defects in the lactating infant.

Warnings

You should not use Lamisil cream if you are allergic to it or if:

• you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.
• you have ever had an allergic reaction to Lamisil cream or any other ingredient listed in the Product Information leaflet.
• you have ever had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients listed in the Product Information leaflet. This includes the ingredients and dyes listed in the Ingredients section.
• you have ever had an allergic reaction to any of the inactive ingredients listed in the Product Information leaflet.
• you have ever had an allergic reaction to diclofenac or similar other ingredients listed in the Product Information leaflet.
• you have a skin condition that affects the shape of the skin, such as a condition called eczema. Lamisil cream may also affect the skin.

Before using Lamisil cream

• you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed in the Product Information leaflet.
• you have an eye disease that affects the eyes.
• you have a history of eye problems such as an anorexia or bulimia, hives, or eye problems in which you have used an over-the-counter product to treat your eyes.
• you have ever had an allergic reaction to diclofenac, or similar other ingredients in the product.
• you have a history of eye problems such as an eye condition called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) or Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN), or an eye condition called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS).
• you have ever had an eye problem called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS).
• you have ever had an eye disease or other eye problems.
• you have ever had an eye problem called acute glaucoma.
• you have ever had an eye disease called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS).
• you have a skin problem called or contact dermatitis.

• you have ever had an eye problem called tinea pedis.

• Kernicterus-related infections of the liver and kidney
• Dermatomycosis

This drug is not recommended for children.

This drug is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

USES OF THIS MEDICINE

Itraconazole

This drug is used to treat infections of the skin and nails caused by fungi. It works by stopping the growth of the fungus.

Itraconazole is an antifungal that is often used in combination with other treatments to treat skin and nail infections.

This medication is only effective against fungal infections in the skin and nails. The use of this drug in this group of people is not recommended.

Itraconazole and ketoconazole are both used to treat fungal infections of the skin including the following conditions:

• Skin and nail infections due to dermatophytes such as Epidermophyton floccosum, Epidermophyton occidentalis, or Epidermophyton nelae
• Kernicterus infections of the liver and kidney
• Tinea corporis (tinea infections of the skin)

These drugs are not recommended for the treatment of fungal infections in the skin and nails. These infections may need to be treated with topical treatments, such as benzoyl peroxide or topical antifungals such as itraconazole.

Itraconazole, ketoconazole, and itraconazole-based topical antifungal drugs should be used with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any component of this drug.

HOW SHOULD I USE THIS MEDICINE?

The recommended dose of itraconazole/ketoconazole is one to three times daily. Itraconazole/ketoconazole should be taken with a meal, and ketoconazole with a meal.

This drug is usually taken orally once a day. It is important not to crush or break the tablets, as they may become broken and fall from the tongue or mouth. It is not recommended to take this medicine with food.

For the treatment of skin and nails, the usual adult dose of itraconazole/ketoconazole is one to three times daily.
