What is Lamisil cream?

Lamisil cream is a topical cream used to treat athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) in children.

Lamisil cream is formulated to help reduce symptoms of athlete’s foot in children.

Lamisil cream is applied to the skin, usually twice a day, for about three weeks. The cream can also be applied once a day to the skin. It may be used for a limited time to treat athlete’s foot, and for three or more months to treat any other conditions that are associated with athlete’s foot.

Lamisil cream is not recommended for use by pregnant women, as it may cause birth defects in the unborn child. It is also not recommended for use by lactating women, as it may cause birth defects in the lactating infant.

You should not use Lamisil cream if you are allergic to it or if:

    USES OF THIS MEDICINE

    Itraconazole

    Itraconazole is an antifungal that is often used in combination with other treatments to treat skin and nail infections.

    This medication is only effective against fungal infections in the skin and nails. The use of this drug in this group of people is not recommended.

    Itraconazole and ketoconazole are both used to treat fungal infections of the skin including the following conditions:

    • Skin and nail infections due to dermatophytes such as Epidermophyton floccosum, Epidermophyton occidentalis, or Epidermophyton nelae
    • Kernicterus infections of the liver and kidney

    The recommended dose of itraconazole/ketoconazole is one to three times daily. Itraconazole/ketoconazole should be taken with a meal, and ketoconazole with a meal.

    This drug is usually taken orally once a day. It is important not to crush or break the tablets, as they may become broken and fall from the tongue or mouth. It is not recommended to take this medicine with food.

    For the treatment of skin and nails, the usual adult dose of itraconazole/ketoconazole is one to three times daily.
